WE NEVER WALK ALONE

WE NEVER WALK ALONE

This morning I was overwhelmed with thanksgiving to the Lord!  I recalled a distant memory when the Lord spoke miraculously to me.

I was five years old and my single mom decided to move out of my grandparents home to a place of our own. On the first day in the new apartment building I decided to explore the neighborhood.  I was not familiar with the new area and I got lost.  I wandered for what seemed like hours and terror filled my heart.  I could not find my mother and I felt fearfully alone.  My father left us when I was two and so I already had some issues for sure. The feeling of being totally abandoned engulfed me, I did not know what do or where to go. I stood in the middle of the road and I looked up into the sky staring at the clouds looking, I suppose,  for help from heaven. The sun was hidden that day behind very thick clouds.  Then something unexplainable happened.  I heard a song in my mind, a song I probably had heard somehow, but did not know. This is the song that I heard:

YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE

When you walk through a storm

Hold your head up high

And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of a storm

There's a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of a lark

Walk on through the wind

Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on, walk on

With hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

Walk on, walk on

With hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

As the song played in my head I felt warmth and peace flood over me and the fear left.  As I looked into the sky and listened to the song, the clouds broke apart and the sun shone through with many rays exploding in every direction. Somehow, I didn’t feel alone anymore. The Bible says that the Lord rejoices over us with singing.

There are times in our lives that we must walk by faith and the presence of the Lord seems distant or absent. In those times we must continue to walk knowing that He is always there. We will walk through the storms of life but we NEVER WALK ALONE, WE NEVER WALK ALONE.

The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will

rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet [you] with His love, He will

rejoice over you with singing.”  (Zep 3:17 NKJV)

It makes me happy every day, that we can help abandoned children and widows in India. The widows felt alone and abandoned by their families after the death of their husbands. The children felt abandoned after the death of their parents or being abandoned by their mothers and fathers on the streets to fend for themselves. The Lord sets the lonely in families.  Our Hope Home is like a gigantic family! The children and widows that are living in our Hope Homes now enjoy the security of friendship and family.  They live in safety receiving good food, clothes, a good education, and most importantly, love.

I pray God’s best blessings for each of you.  I pray that you find new strength in any struggle you may be facing. Thank you for your help for our family of God in India!
