Women’s Sewing Ministries

Learning a trade could literally be life saving for a woman in India. Our sewing ministry hosts 60 women who meet together on a weekly basis to sew. Streams in the Desert’s sewing ministry is a lot like school for these women. It is a space for both learning and community. We are so thankful to be able to provide them with thread, sewing machines, fabric and patterns to use. We currently have seven sewing machines available for use, but we are hoping to have the funds to buy more soon. Learning to sew is a wonderful way for these women to contribute to providing for their households. In our classes, the women are creating beautiful Sarees that are sold in the streets. The profits they earn are use support their families at home.
